U.S. Marshals Help Capture Tennessee Murder Fugitive in Slovenia
A fugitive wanted in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old girl in Tennessee was arrested in Slovenia after three years on the run thanks to the efforts of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), Interpol, and other law enforcement agencies.
USMS says 23-year-old Seth Walls was arrested in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on September 12, 2026. Walls was using an assumed name, but his identity was confirmed through fingerprints provided by Interpol.
“We are glad to utilize the skills of our Investigators and coordinate with local, federal, and international law enforcement partners to hold him accountable to the justice system and the victim’s family,” said Tyreece Miller, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee.
Facebook Post Led to Break
Walls is charged in the shooting death of 15-year-old Haley Reedy on September 11, 2022, at a residence in Millington, Tennessee, outside Memphis.
Walls had previously posted bond but later failed to appear for a scheduled court date, prompting a warrant for his arrest.
On the anniversary of the murder, Reedy’s mother Brandee Jones posted a picture of Walls on a Facebook crime page. Jones said the post went viral and someone at a bar in Slovenia recognized Walls and contacted authorities.
“Someone 5,000 miles away overseas in another country saw our comment, our pictures, our post, and they got him,” said Jones.
According to a paper in Slovenia, Walls had no ID on him but claimed he was a Canadian citizen. Verification efforts revealed he was a U.S. citizen wanted on an international arrest warrant.
Walls is currently detained in Slovenia awaiting extradition to Tennessee. He is facing charges of second-degree murder and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
“The arrest of Seth Walls in Slovenia is a powerful example of what can be accomplished when local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies work together,” said Shelby County Sheriff Anthony Buckner.
The Gulf Shores, Alabama, Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Millington Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) assisted in the investigation.
