FBI Agent Found Guilty of Rape Charges in Maryland
A jury in Montgomery County, Maryland, found a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) supervisory agent guilty of rape charges, with the suspect allegedly luring victims to tattoo parlors and then raping them.
At the time of his arrest in November 2024, 41-year-old Eduardo Valdivia was working as a supervisory special agent at the FBI and had been employed at the FBI since 2011. Valdivia also owned a tattoo parlor, DC Fine Line Tattoos, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
According to prosecutors a first victim told police that she was raped by someone she knew as “Lalo Brown” at the tattoo parlor in Gaithersburg. A second victim came forward with a similar story. Then another victim came forward saying she was raped by the suspect at a different tattoo parlor.
Prosecutors say Valdivia lured victims to tattoo parlors with promises of modeling contracts and free tattoos and even posed as a modeling agency CEO in emails. They say he used the skills he learned while working undercover to create a persona for his various aliases, which included the names “Lalo Brown,” “L. Boogie,” and “Dr. Tiffany Kim.” The victims ranged between ages 18-21.
“Trained in covert operations and deception, he systematically targeted young women using the allure of tattoos and false promises. These were tools used to manipulate and prey upon his victims,” said Montgomery County States Attorney John McCarthy.
The jury found Valdivia guilty of six counts of second-degree rape and two counts of fourth-degree sexual offense after deliberating for three hours.
He faces a maximum of 122 years in prison with sentencing set for October 14.
Valdivia also faced trial in 2022 in Montgomery County for shooting at a panhandler onboard a Metro train. That jury determined he acted in self-defense in acquitting him of attempted murder.
