How Memphis Has Changed the Way Police Respond to Mental Health Crises

While individuals with mental illness are often stigmatized as criminals, research shows they are more often victims than perpetrators. In honor of May as Mental Health Awareness Month, this video explains how Memphis Police Officers are working with the National Alliance on Mental Illness to train officers to better approach individuals with mental illness.
