Federal Judge to Hear Union Challenges to Trump Executive Orders

U.S. District Court Judge Ketanji Brown has “consolidated lawsuits from several federal unions challenging the president’s three recent executive orders on employee accountability, official time, and collective bargaining,” according to Federal News Radio’s Nicole Ogrysko.

Brown will “hear a motion for a summary judgment in U.S. District Court on July 25.”

Both the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU) and the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) celebrated the announcement, with both organizations having filed separate lawsuits challenging the executive orders. According to Ogrysko, a separate “coalition of 13 federal unions, led by the National Federation of Federal Employees” also filed suit last week.

Ogrysko writes that, in total, 23 separate unions “have asked Special Counsel Henry Kerner to pay special attention to these orders.”
