The Intelligence Community Takes Hiring Online

The intelligence community (IC) is turning to unique, high-tech methods of recruiting in hopes of reaching a wider and younger talent pool.

The 17 separate intelligence government groups, including the Central Intelligence Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and others, banded together to offer potential applicants one site where they can apply to numerous analytical jobs based on their personal skillset.

The site, IntelligenceCareers.gov, "will feature capabilities that will not only improve the job seeker’s experience, but will also increase the efficiency and effectiveness of IC recruiting and hiring efforts,” ODNI spokes Charles Carithers told NextGov.

The IC seeks professionals with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, as well as business, human resources, and law enforcement.

In addition, high school and undergraduate students can search for internships and other opportunities catered just to their age groups.

According to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, “The site launch is part of a larger effort to bring greater levels of efficiency to IC hiring practices, which also includes automated backend systems that will help recruiters identify highly qualified candidates more quickly and accurately than ever before,” the ODNI wrote in a statement.
