Final 4 Surrender in Oregon Occupation

A 41 day occupation comes to an end with the peaceful surrender of the last four Oregon militants. David Fry, Jeff Banta, Sean Anderson and Sandy Anderson were the final ones to leave Malheur National Wildlife Refuge this morning.

"No one was injured, and no shots were fired," the FBI said in a statement.

Fry stalled long past the others, airing a range of grievances and conspiracy theories, saying he was suicidal, and suggesting that he would rather die than go to prison. After an hour in his tent alone, however, Mr. Fry gave himself up without a fight.

Protesting the convictions of two Oregon ranchers charged with arson, the armed anti-federalists took over the refuge in early January.

The Thursday morning surrender was negotiated with the aid of Nevada state Assemblywoman, Michele Fiore, and evangelical leader, Franklin Graham.

The deal was arranged via numerous calls live-streamed calls Wednesday night and Thursday morning, with thousands of people all over America watching.
