Over 100,000 Feds to See Locality Pay Raises in 2016

The President’s Pay Agent this week finalized the establishment of 13 new locality pay areas.

The move paves the way for locality pay bumps for approximately 102,000 federal employees on January 1, 2016.

The White House had previously frozen locality pay increases in 2011.

The new locality pay areas are: Albany-Schenectady, New York; Albuquerque-Santa Fe-Las Vegas, New Mexico; Austin-Round Rock, Texas; Charlotte-Concord, North Carolina – South Carolina; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Davenport-Moline, Iowa – Illinois; Harrisburg-Lebanon, Pennsylvania; Kansas City-Overland Park-Kansas City, Missouri – Kansas; Laredo, Texas; Las Vegas-Henderson, Nevada - Arizona; Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville, Florida; St. Louis-St. Charles-Farmington, Missouri – Illinois; and Tucson-Nogales, Arizona.

In addition to establishing new locality pay areas, other localities expanded, such as the Washington-Baltimore zone.
