GEICO’s Good Stuff is a column series highlight great stuff happening in the federal community.
The White House created new features for President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address to encourage interaction with the public and increase the use of social media to share the speech.
The new features include an enhanced version of the speech at WhiteHouse.gov/SOTU that will include charts, facts and other information and a new tool called Citizen Response.
“The President’s speech is just the beginning; the White House is thrilled to introduce a new tool called Citizen Response that lets you highlight a passage from the State of the Union Address, tell the President how you’re connected to that issue and then share that specific part with your friends,” the White House wrote.
Later this week, President Obama will host a “completely virtual” town hall-type discussion with Americans. The President will answer questions that have been submitted and voted on during the digital town hall hosted by Google.
