Air Force OSI Introduces New Anonymous Internet and Smartphone Tip Line
The Air Force Office of Special Investigations has created its first anonymous tip line that allows the public to submit tips through the Internet, text messages or by using a smartphone application.
“This tool will allow anyone to provide OSI with completely anonymous tips on everything from illegal drugs, theft and terrorist activities to potential insider threats,” said Special Agent Daron Hartvigsen, OSI Cyber Investigations and Operations. “Even better, the online and app versions allow individuals to send in photos.”
The application also allows agents to contact the tipster to solicit more information without jeopardizing the tipster’s anonymity, OSI said. Tipsters can also check on the status of their tips, regardless of how they submitted the information.
Individuals wishing to submit a tip can find the TipSubmit Mobile application in both the Android and Apple stores or can send a tip via text message by typing “AFOSI” and the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). The link to the Internet tip line is https://www.tipsubmit.com/WebTips.aspx?AgencyID=1111.
Tipsters can find more information here.
